We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Multimedia/Art/Visual Communication Design (VCD) Teacher to join our Arts Faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire creativity, design thinking and problem-solving skills in students from Years 7–12, including VCE VCD.

This role is a part-time (0.8 FTE) fixed term position for 12 months, commencing in Term 1, 2026.

Multimedia/Art/Visual Communication Design (VCD) Teacher inspires creativity and innovation in students through engaging, inquiry-based learning across design, digital media, and visual communication. The role encourages students to develop practical skills, conceptual understanding, and design literacy, preparing them for VCE VCD success and for pathways into the creative industries.

About the role: 

  • Teach engaging lessons in Multimedia (Years 5-9), Visual Communication Design (Years 10–12, including VCE VCD) and Art (Years 7-12)
  • Foster student creativity through both traditional design methods and contemporary digital tools (Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, 3D modelling, video/animation)
  • Contribute to art, multimedia and design showcases, exhibitions and co-curricular opportunities that celebrate student achievement
  • Be part of a collaborative faculty that values innovation, professional growth, and student-centred learning

What you bring to the role:

  • Current VIT registration
  • Expertise in Multimedia, Art and Visual Communication Design with experience teaching VCE VCD
  • Strong skills in digital and traditional design communication
  • A commitment to engaging and inspiring young people through creativity and design
  • Willingness to contribute to the life of the College beyond the classroom
  • Ability to assess and evaluate student learning
  • Capacity to accommodate different student learning styles and abilities
  • Ability to develop constructive relationships with students which engender positive attitudes to learning
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents, and staff
  • Knowledge of child safe practices, including reporting requirements
