At ELTHAM we have a number of co-curricular experiences that encourage you to DISCOVER. Click on the activities below to uncover a new skill or interest.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE EC

In this dynamic Artificial Intelligence club, students utilize AI art and text apps like ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, and Leonardo AI to create a diverse range of artistic projects inspired by popular culture and literature. Using thought-provoking prompts generated by ChatGPT, members produce visually striking images, posters, comics, graphic novels, and immersive stories. The synergy between human creativity and AI technology allows them to push the boundaries of traditional storytelling. Additionally, the exploration extends to AI-powered games, showcasing the club's commitment to innovative and interactive forms of expression.

Available for students in Year 7 – 12.

AMPLIFY YOURSELF

Bring ideas to life in this exciting co-curricular subject by creating projects while learning real-world design skills. You will need to bring your Surface-Pro to each session.

Use:

  • Tinkercad to design custom 3D models and turn them into physical objects with 3D printing
  • Explore Adobe Illustrator to create original artwork and designs ready for laser cutting
  • You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your own coding projects using microcontroller-based creations to create interactive projects like games, instruments, gadgets, or robots.

Whether you’re into art, engineering, product design, or just love making things, Amplify Yourself gives you the tools and freedom to design, create, and innovate.

Available for students in Year 7 – 12.

CODING CLUB

The Coding Club is a vehicle for students to explore using technology to do interesting things. It could be tinkering with the Internet of Things, building Arduino or Raspberry Pi projects, or learning to code a website or web app.

COSMOS CLUB

“The universe is not only stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we can imagine.” – Sir Arthur Eddington (Astronomer, physicist and mathematician).

Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered what secrets it holds? Have you ever gazed in awe at images of the universe and wanted to know more? Are you curious about space and want to explore what is out there?  In Cosmos Club you can make use of ELTHAM College’s state of the art on-site astronomical observatory and also gain access to a suite of scientific telescopes worldwide. You can take your own images of planets, moons, stars, galaxies, nebulae and other celestial objects. As well as creating beautiful images, you can become involved in real science such as searching for exoplanets and analysing variable stars. Guidance will be provided but you are also free to follow your own passions and interest. At Cosmos Club, not even the sky is the limit! “Space is for everybody. It’s not just for a few people in science or math, or for a select group of astronauts. That’s our new frontier out there, and it’s everybody’s business to know about space.” – Christa McAuliffe (teacher & astronaut).
