Year 7 is designed to embed a love of learning and students demonstrating the College values.

The ELTHAM College values are:

  • Be courageous
  • Be curious
  • Be respectful
  • Own it
  • One team

Students start embedding these in behaviour and mindset, setting them up for the following Senior School years.

In Years 7 – 8, each students’ core curriculum consists of English and Mathematics as a daily part of their program, together with Languages, Science, Humanities, Physical Education and Sport.

This is an exciting year where ELTHAM students start immersing themselves in the wider school community through joining their House and participating in collaborative projects like House Music, staged at Hamer Hall at Arts Centre Melbourne, House Cross Country and the Year 5 – 8 Production.

The ELTHAM Outdoor Education program personalises students’ outdoor experience and students choose the programs that is of most interest to them – choice of Marine, Mountain, Alpine or River programs. They experience different environments, are introduced to camp-craft skills, and begin developing safe practices in the outdoors.
