Bring ELTHAM College’s 50th anniversary to life through student and alumni storytelling, film and photography in our inaugural competition.
Calling all ELTHAM College community photographers and filmmakers!
The competition asks students and alumni to research and understand different aspects of the College’s history, present and future, and express their findings, ideas and vision through short films and photographs.
Entries can be submitted by individuals and/or teams – realise your own vision or team up for a collab.
See your work judged by an incredible panel of judges, including educators, local artists, filmmakers and photographers.
Competition Categories
The competition is divided into different age categories for both film and photograpy entrants:
JUNIOR | 7–10 years old
INTERMEDIATE | 11–14 years old
SENIOR | 15–18 years old
ALUMNI | 18 and over
For each age category in the Film and Photography Challenge there will be the following awards:

Competition Themes
Entries must reflect on what makes ELTHAM College unique from a community, cultural, environment, and/or geographic perspective. This theme encourages capturing and storytelling the essence of the College from one or more of these angles, including sense of place, space, and belonging.
Entrants are challenged to tell a story from the point of view of a college student – drawing on what their daily life was/is/potentially like, their experiences, dreams and/or aspirations at a certain point in time, from 1974 onwards and into the College’s future.
